Wedding Music

We will work with you to help make your event a success.  We offer unlimited phone and email consultation for no cost about planning the music for your event, and we will suggest music selections on request.  We can take no more than 2 requests.  Some requests may not be possible for us to arrange.

We can be hired for either the reception, the ceremony, or both.

During wedding ceremonies we usually play during the prelude, as guests enter and seat themselves.  We can also play for the processional (one or several pieces for the entry of the family, wedding party, and bride and groom).  As well as playing bluegrass music, we can perform classical music wedding standards on mandolin and violin, which can be good during wedding ceremonies.

If we play during the service we can perform short pieces of music between readings, or parts of the ceremony, or during non speaking parts of the ceremony such as exchanging rings, communion, or signing the register.  Often we play during the recessional as the wedding party exits, and during the postlude as the guests leave.

We also can play after the ceremony at receptions, cocktail hours, etc.  Our music is great for dancing!

We can send you a list of the titles of all the instrumental bluegrass pieces we play, and we take requests for specific bluegrass pieces.  We can also choose selections for you, you just let us know what speed you want the music to have (slow, medium, fast), what volume, and what instrumentation.  Margaret always plays fiddle, and Victor performs on either guitar, mandolin, or banjo, and is a vocalist.  Guitar provides a warm, acoustic sound, mandolin produces the most intricate and pretty music, and banjo provides an authentic, twangy bluegrass sound. We can perform all instrumental music, or a mixture of instrumental and vocal music.

As well as being bluegrass musicians, we perform classical wedding music standards as a classical duet of violin and mandolin.   One option we offer is classical music for the ceremony, and bluegrass music for the cocktail hour or reception.

Classical pieces we play:  Canon in D (Pachelbel), Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach), Ode to Joy (Beethoven), Rondo (Mouret), Air in D (Bach), Wedding March (Mendelsohnn), Wedding March (Wagner), Air in D (Bach), Largo from Winter from the Four Seasons (Vivaldi), Hornpipe from Water Music (Handel), Minuets 1 and 2 in G from the notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach (Bach), Excerpt of Spring from the Four Seasons (Vivaldi), Invention 1 (Bach), Eine Kleine Nachtmusic (Mozart).

Modern pieces we play instrumental versions of: Concerning Hobbits (Lord of the Rings Soundtrack), Danny's Song (Kenny Loggins), May it Be (Lord of the Rings Soundtrack), Broken Road (Rascal Flatts), Thousand Years (Christina Perri), Wagon Wheel (Old Crow Medicine Show), Big Country (Bela Fleck), Free (Zac Brown Band), Do You Remember? (Jack Johnson), Crazy Girl (Eli Young Band), Here There and Everywhere (The Beatles).

We can perform acoustically (this is best for indoor situations, except very loud, crowded receptions) or with amplification, which can be good for outdoor situations.  We can provide microphones (regular and hand held wireless) and amplification for officiants, and other speakers during the ceremony, and we can make announcements for you over our PA.    We can also play your music from an ipod or other source through our speakers when we are not playing.
